As we head into Samhain, we consider our ancestors, honour those who have passed and celebrate the rebirth cycle. It is from this perspective that I bring you an astrological message.
The Cosmic Message of Samhain 2020
Whilst the veils between our worlds are at their thinnest, I hope to connect you to the wisdom of your ancestors, via the planets, asteroids and cosmic bodies.
What follows is an intuitive Q&A with my panel of cosmic experts (Hekate, Persephone, Urania, Black Moon Lillith and Hades). I calculated the Samhain chart as follows:- 31st October, 2020 at Midnight, London, UK
Question number one - ‘What is the significance of Samhain coinciding with the Full Moon?
Black Moon Lillith ‘Its pretty rare and only happens once every 18/19 years. As we head into Samhain, the Moon isn’t yet full. She’s in a conjunction with me, representing a shadow.
We’re both in the sign of Taurus, and in the 9th house . Under our influence humanity is extra sensitive to our spiritual thoughts. It is as if we are defined by our beliefs and we’re prepared to create a drama to ensure we are superior.
We’re also in opposition to Urania and Mercury in the third house. We have no real reason to dismiss others as inferior, but we’re emotionally charged and competitive with others. I can see that the intellectual snobbery that is displayed actually causes more separation from others. From a Samhain point of view, this could serve to disconnect people from their ancestors, family and support systems.
Be more open minded, curious and prepared to be surprised. I say surprised because when the Moon goes full, it is exactly conjunct Uranus, planet of chaos and change’.
“Thanks Lilith. So my next question is over to the Moon and Uranus - "Tell me, what does your conjunction present in connecting with our Ancestors?"
Uranus ‘Well, I’m a loose cannon. For those who lack confidence in their ability to cope with surprises, they might feel ‘extra nervy’. It’s like an itch they can’t quite scratch. People are irritable and unpredictable’.
Moon ‘Yes, people get a sense of a looming disruption whenever we meet up. Like there’s something about to happen. It can be exciting and terrifying in equal measure. Our connection also gives greater channelling ability to those who seek it, so connectivity through the veils is turned on much more than usual. The Moon/Uranus merge is also symbolic of shocking memories and ‘big reveals’
‘Ok - thanks you two. That’s useful. Speaking of merging, memories and veils, I’d like to check in now with Persephone. Are you there?
Persephone ‘Hi. I’m actually conjunct Neptune throughout Samhain. My usual ability to dive between the veils is magnified and unspecified. Neptune ‘fogs’ perspectives. So people who seek to connect with ancestors, need to be very clear in their intention and not get sidetracked. Neptune is not known for his strong boundaries. He is nebulous. As such, when ancestors ‘come through’, we might not be entirely sure who we’re in touch with.
Neptune is also often ‘under the influence’ of stronger energies, whether that be intoxication, enhanced meditative states, ritualistic incense. Neptune works well with magical enhancement. We can choose to deliberately heighten our awareness as we contact our ancestors. We can also be as creative as we like. Music, Singing, Artwork, all work well and enhance my own ability to guide you on this journey’.
Thanks. I’ve noticed that Venus and Chiron are also in Opposition throughout Samhain.
Venus ‘Yes, I’ve been running up against my personal values recently. Chiron isn’t always about childhood pain. He can also represent the hidden guru within us. We’re placed across the 2nd and 8th houses which have a flavour for inherited values versus our personal values. Right now, I’m feeling at odds with the values of my ancestors and living elders. My confidence is affected and I’ve been doubting my ability to affirm my stance’.
What do you recommend to heal this schism, Venus?
Venus ‘I’m big on appreciation and forgiveness. It’s the only real way to drop personal judgements, and we need to start on ourselves. As we forgive ourselves, we can forgive those who’ve had influence over our lives. As we do this, we create a stronger ‘pull’ to the ‘guru ancestors’ to emerge. A dynamic meeting of consciousness becomes possible’.
Wow thanks! Final Question then, and it’s out to all of you. What tip would you share to those wanting their Samhain experience to be integrated over the next season?
Hekate ‘We must ‘constellate’ our desires and intentions. It is not enough to hold our visions in our minds’ eyes only. The time for purposeful action is upon us. My sextile with Urania is drawing hope and greater vision for humanity’.
Hades ‘I’m in the 11th house of this chart and am showing you that the underworld can be rooted systemically throughout co-created forces. They might be governmental, regulatory or just a shared project – trouble is, when others are involved, we share a vibration whether we like it or not. If you’re particularly sensitive, it’s worth working on your own, this Samhain. We must watch very carefully who we follow into the underworld’
Urania ‘I’m in opposition to my grandfather, Uranus during Samhain. I find him emotional. My ancestors might seem to have made shocking, rash, and irresponsible decisions – and I have inherited ‘harm patterns’ as we all do. And I’m here to show you that we can take full responsibility for OUR NOW. I see solutions. There are always light solutions, but we might need to search beyond our Earthly realm to find them. I go to the universe and ask myself ‘What wisdom might my intergalactic ancestors and descendants share with me from beyond their veil?’
We do have elders/gurus around us, albeit, they might not be ‘our genetic/earthly elders’. We might also want to ask ourselves ‘How might we become the elders our descendants need in future?’
